Introduction to Assessments

Objective: Gain an overview of the Assessments module's purpose and common uses.

Brightly Assetic Assessments is a module used to manage and perform assessments on the condition of Assets and Simple Asset Groups, using Assessment Tasks and Forms. The module is designed to integrate with the Brightly Assetic Mobility app.

What can the Assessments module be used for?

The flexibility of the Assessments module allows for it to be used in a variety of ways within the Brightly Assetic platform.

By building a custom form that includes inspection elements, and creating an Assessment Project which uses this form, the Assessments module can be used as an inspection checklist for Assets.

The Assessments module can also be used to store specific custom fields against an Asset. For example, a custom Assessment form could be created for use with artworks, which has a free text field for frame thickness and genre details – and then assessment tasks could be created for all of an organization’s artwork assets, in which these forms would be filled out. This would then save those details in the system for future reference.

Another potential use case for the Assessments module is for bulk importing raw condition data for Assets. If an organization has a large amount of data about the condition of multiple assets, typically as a result of an audit, this can be entered into the Assetic platform by making use of the Assessments module’s custom forms and Data Exchange imports. For a step-by-step guide on how to do this, please see the article 'How to Bulk Upload Raw Condition Data'.
